I want to start this letter off by letting you know I love you more than words can even begin to express. My actions haven’t always shown so and if I could go back in time I would. When I was younger I never quite understand the magnitude that went behind what you always told me, “it’s easier not to care.” Now that I am more mature and have a child of my own I get exactly what you meant.
You stepped up and became a man for my mom and I. For that I thank you.
You loved me during times I didn’t even love myself. For that I thank you.
You disciplined me even when it was tough for you because you cared. For that I thank you.
You have worked harder than anyone I know to provide for our family. For that I thank you.
You have spoiled me and always made it clear that I am your princess. For that I thank you.
You are the smartest man I know, with a great sense of humor. For that I thank you.
You have loved my daughter, your granddaughter, in an overwhelming way. For that I thank you.
On this Fathers Day I thank you an extreme amount for everything you’ve done and continue to do. You are one of a kind and I love you so much. Boy have we bumped heads… because we’re just a like, but you are special to me dad. Everything you’ve told me growing up has been instilled me for sure. It’s been a rough go around of me learning things the hard way, but your words always come back to me. “Make good grades, be a good citizen, and try my hardest at everything.” Your only rules growing up.
I love you and Happy Father’s Day to the man that knows it all.
